Reactions and Reviews
Six fanzines of potential interest to the enquiring mind have come my way over the past month, so a quick review of each seems to be the fairest way of dealing with then all [see "City" for a list of the other five zines].
A close second [1] is ZINE-IUS, Carol Keogh's production for Empathy. This is closer to the spirit of an SF fanzine than the usual ST zine; it has the personalized out look of a zine produced for its Editor rather than fro some theoretical public. Its great charm apart from this personal angle is the total lack of pretension. (It bills itself as 'the worst zine ever published' but is in fact a long way down the list of candidates for that title!) Its main strength is its poetry -- there are some genuinely thoughtful works as well as lighthearted pieces. It can be had for 40p (plus P&P) from EMPATHY [address in Essex redacted]. [2]
