No, we ended up being in the negatives because there was a situation with shipping prices within the U.S. going up after the order had already closed which caught us off guard, there was a suggestion of possibly asking artists to help with costs, but ultimately it didn’t feel right asking for that and just decided to take the loss.I’m sorry, at least a few things where learned from this.

Hey, I’m very sorry for the late response. I don’t use tumblr anymore, and only saw this by chance. As of me answering this, all zines were shipped two years ago, mid 2021 with an extra sticker sheet and mini print to apologize for the delay. Leading up to this, I sent updates via email with the ones provided when purchased for direct correspondence.
There was one zine that kept getting returned to me; a basic $20 one in the US. I did not know how to contact for reimbursement. If this sounds like you, please let me know.
As a form of accountability, I have stepped down from the zine community completely since this project finished, and have no intent to participate as a contributor or a mod any time in the future.
I am very sorry for the issue, and you can contact me at [email protected] to discuss reimbursement or being resent a full bundle of the zine as an apology.https://ygofashionzine.tumblr.com/post/723749960050524160/hey-so-sorry-for-the-bother-but-its-been-3

From September 15th, 2019 until now, this zine took nearly three years to get out the door. This post will give you the summary as to why this happened, in part because I’m sure some people are wondering, and also as a warning to anyone who wants to do a zine and has not before! Don’t be me! [ ] The tl;dr is to not do a zine solo… At least not without having participated in mod roles for other zines first . . . So if you’re reading this and thinking to yourself “Wow I don’t think I could ever trust Pachi to run another zine in any fandom” I do have good news: I am not going to! I severely underestimated the amount of work involved, and I am never touching another zine. I am never managing something like this again in general! . . . If you are thinking to yourself “I want to do a zine!” for the love of all that is holy and everything else, do not do it solo. You might pull it off, more power to you, but you’re more likely to just overwhelm yourself like I did and have 99 problems along the way . . .https://contrast-firestormzine.tumblr.com/post/688571529732227072/a-post-mortem#content

We would like to address this situation upfront for the sake of transparency. While many of our contributors dropped from the Hocus Pocus zine due to discomfort related to how various issues were handled, we thought it’d be a shame to have their hard work go to waste, especially for those that had completed works! In order to share our works with everyone, our small group of people got together and created Heka. Aside from content previously created for the HP zine, it will also include brand-new contributions from our writers, artists and cosplayers, so stay tuned for updates and previews!

We are extremely sorry to announce that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Antag zine has been cancelled. This is not a decision made lightly, and it is due to a severe lack of communication from the head mod and organizer, Leo (@lielking on Tumblr and @kingpaints on IG). Mod Leo is the only zine mod who has control of the zine’s Tumblr, Gumroad, and email, and thus only he has control of the zine’s finances and its production and shipping. The other mods—Mod Erin and I, Mod kappa, who were brought in only to help with the creation progress—unfortunately cannot pick up wherever he left off, and so the project has come to a standstill.

Imagine getting called out on a platform for your appropiation of black symbols and generally messed up actions, so you resort to moving to a different platform only to get even more backlash.Imagine having ego so fragile that you do not think twice about whether what you’re doing is a mistake.
Imagine blaming it on other people who “don’t get the message”, shielding yourself from critiscism with the excuse of being queer, and what you end up doing is trying to cover up your tracks and try to start fresh only to end up with the same problem.
Imagine being that type of person —Tumblr user crayontart’s reblog on the zine’s announcement post
using a fanzine to appropriate actual struggles of real people. other people who have already ‘dogpiled’ on you (or so you’ll claim) have already done a splendid job of pointing out exactly what you’ve done wrong. @blooming-blooming - I’m horribly sorry to hear about your uncle, and that you had to be reminded of that through a yu-gi-oh fanzine. —Tumblr user nutshellkelp in the reply
