Yooperverse is a Phantom Menace AU by Writestuff.

The novels of the Yooperverse are set in the Upper Peninsula of Northern Michigan (natives of the Upper Peninsula are called "yoopers"). In this AU, Qui-Gon is a first-generation American (half Irish, half Iranian) retired Special Forces veteran named Khalil Liam Cahill, who suffers from PTSD. He buys a house in a small town near his also retired best friend, Marc Winston (Mace) but finds it comes with an unexpected caretaker: a young man named Obediah Kenner abandoned by his parents for being gay. There are currently three novel-length stories in this series, (Ever Since Happiness Heard Your Name, The Astonishing Light of Your Own Being, and Beyond the Rightness and Wrongness of Things) with a fourth and fifth planned. The third novel is set primarily in Barcelona and Morocco. The fourth novel is a WIP, set partially in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With the third novel, authors ell, elrhiarhodan and Temve have been added to the mix and the series has become a collaborative endeavor. Elrhiarhodan has also written a novel-length timestamp called WildPeace which deals with Khalil's relationship with his family, especially his father. Other timestamps are planned as well.
