Years & Years is a Princess Allura zine in the Voltron: Legendary Defender fandom. It features work by 32 artists and 20 writers.
About
“YEARS & YEARS” is a fan magazine celebrating Princess Allura, from the Voltron: Legendary Defender series. We dedicate this project in celebration of her, aiming to underline her unique individuality, role, and significance — both as a character in the show and as an influence outside of fiction.
We chose to curate a zine in order to invite collaboration from others that want to actively engage with these specific purposes in mind. In doing so, we not only seek to feature the work of the various and talented creators in the fandom and to archive the imagination, passion, and inspirations of fan-made content, but also to foster and maintain ongoing conversations about Allura.
However you support this project, we thank you for appreciating Allura. She is the leader of Lions, the last daughter of Altea, the latent herione of the universe. She shines like the stars in the sky, and her importance transcends time and space — she will be remembered for years and years to come.
For our first issue, our theme is IDENTITY — in all forms, whether, race, gender, sexuality, power, role, or whatever, in the context of Allura’s past, present, and future.
The zine’s special feature will be a 11 inches by 17 inches poster that will focus on fashion and representation! We want to showcase Allura in various fashions and forms (ex: her wearing traditional clothes of a certain culture you relate to, her represented in other body types, gender, and identity [as long as she is not whitewashed], her in various sfw attires of your choosing etc.].
