Light Yagami (夜神月, Yagami Raito) is the main character in the manga and anime Death Note.
Canon
Light is a smart but isolated high school student. When the shinigami Ryuk offers him the Death Note, an artifact that cause the death of anyone whose name is written in it, Light decides to purge the world of criminals, becoming the serial killer known to the public as Kira.

Light's Swimming Lessons
A manga edit,[1] gifset,[2] and later youtube video,[3] that is an incorrect quote series replacing Light's confession at the climax of the series with Light teaching Matsuda how to swim, gained viral popularity on the broader internet beyond the Death Noted fandom.
