Some Summaries

From June 1997:

Hi there!

Stop by and visit The X-Press. This is an on-line "newspaper" dedicated to X-Files Fan Fiction. June's Edition features an interview with XF author Karen Rasch conducted by Lydia Bower, XF story recommendation by Thalia D'Muse, and the (hold on to your hats) SEQUEL to GirlGone's story "Boxed In" appropriately titled "Boxed In 2: Unboxed". (This story will not be posted to the list until July.)

Expect a MUCH BIGGER layout in July! More features! More articles! [1]

From July 1997:

The July edition of The X-Press has hit the stands! This month Lydia Bower interviews Madeline Partous, Viv Wiley's "Harm's Way V" is the Beta Showcase, Pellinor chats about her new web site, Deep Background, as well as writing an

exclusive vignette for The X-Press, and Parrotfish's "Sub Rosa" is the Fic Pic of the month.

Plus, we have a new feature column called "Ask Dr. X". [2]

From August 1997:

Yes, the August edition of The X-Press has hit the stands! This month features an author interview by Lydia Bower featuring CiCi Lean, the fiction recommendation of the month "Walking the Cage" by Deborah Wells (all 13 parts compiled!) plus a special author introduction by Deborah exclusive to The X-Press, a feature story on Kay Reindl, and The Bermuda Triangle (all 21 parts) by Thalia D'Muse, Audrey Cooper, and GirlGone.

Read on! [3]

From September 1997:

Stop by the September issue of The X-Press to read Lydia Bower's interview with Paula Graves. Also included this month is a first run story, "Indiscreet" by Meredith, fanfic recommendations, and a funny and introspective look at the Scully cancer arc by Emily Phelps called "A Cure Is Out There". [4]

From November 1997:

This month we have an interview with Lydia Bower, a BRAND NEW piece by Thalia D'Muse guaranteed to knock your socks off, more FUN with Medina and her hilarious Bernie's Takes, columns, and an interactive Community Calendar by Emily Phelps and Thalia D'Muse. Go check out and see what's happening around town! [5]

From March 1998:

The X-Press has been updated.

And here you all thought it would be Christmas in July. I was tempted, believe me.

The site has been put on hiatus, HOWEVER the author interviews will continue to be featured at The Lone Gunmen Estrogen Brigade. April's interview (posted a week early) features an interview by Lydia Bower with Thalia D'Muse.

Go to the regular link of The X-Press and there will be a new link to this location. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/8165

OR

Go to the LGEB web site and look under Fan Fiction. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/7913

And now back to the beach, the bottle, and Byers.

Interviews

The site conducted a series of interviews, and they were hosted at their sister web site, The Lone Gunmen Estrogen Brigade.

Only one survived the GeoCities purge. This means the interviews with Karen Rasch (June 1997), Madeline Partous (July 1997), CiCi Lean (August 1997), Paula Graves (September 1997), and Jill Selby (unknown date) are long gone.

Fan Comments

The best XF-related page to appear on the web this summer is X-Press (http://www.geocities.com/Area51/8165/). It covers the world of fan fiction with interviews, featured stories, beta stories and recommendations. A sort of monthly newspaper for us FX fic fans - what a great idea. [7]
