Wow Cool Robot is a meme that originated in Gundam fandom and has since spread to a variety of other fandoms. It is typically used to satirize fans of media, especially but not exclusively fans of anime and other media featuring giant mecha, who miss the canon's message or subtext because they're solely focused on cool aesthetics.
The original image, drawn by Gundam fan Titas Antanas Vilkaitis at some point in 2015 or early 2016,[1] shows a Gundam shooting the phrase "war is bad" over a viewer's head while the viewer looks at the mech and says "wow!! cool robot!!!"
