Wordwitch was a long-time member of Baen's Bar, bravely chatting away with published authors, when the subject of slash came up in Miles To Go, the forum for Lois McMaster Bujold. In the midst of the scoffing about poor quality, lack of creativity, and violation of the author's vision (none of which Wordwitch had any clue about, not having read even any fanfiction) Lois quietly pointed out that some people regarded slash as women's pornography.
Well. That was that. Wordwitch asked for a recommendation, received one, and was promptly invited into Livejournal when she gushed all over poor Resonant's Transfigurations. She committed the grievous sin of fic on an unfamiliar fandom (The Sentinel), for which said fandom forgave her. Said fiction - the Doing Sandburg series - may be read on 852 Prospect or on the archive at Artifact Storage Room 3, and now on An Archive of Our Own..
She was slightly better prepared to riff on Stargate Atlantis's Outcast in her story Hell of a Home You've Got Here, but not by much.
