Reactions and Reviews

1992

This was different. Yes, it was still about their love, and their alien differences, yet it was not the same. I shall look forward to other's comments on it.[1]

1995

I love reading about the beauty of their commitment, their continuous learning about each other, their enjoyment in life and living to the fullest regardless of the fear of impending loss. [2]

1999

Inspired by the poem "Winter Rose", credited to a K/S Songtape, this very short piece contains some exceptionally realistic Kirk/Spock dialogue. The two are retired now, and Spock alternates between concern about Kirk's imminent thought not yet evident aging (I hate those) and exasperation at his mate's concern for a potted plant on their balcony. My favorite exchange is this; "Kirk laughed. "I love you," he chortled, reaching out to touch the lined face and then leaned close to brush his lips against the stern-looking visage, "Yes, old Steel-hide, I love you and you love to hear me say it….?" Isn't that just the most perfect endearment you ever heard for Spock? "Old Steel-hide", indeed. [3]
