Wild Police Planner is a fan project dedicated to the Wild Police Squad, a spinoff of Detective Conan.

About

The project was announced on February 12, 2021, with plans for a moderated and semi-public work server[1]. An interest check was posted on February 21, 2021, and would stay open until April 4, 2021[2]. Applications for art, graphic, and layout moderators opened from March 13 to April 7, 2021[3]. Artist applications opened on May 4, 2021[4]. Application categories included spread, chibi, comic or 4koma, and merch artist. A giveaway for a postcard drawn by maynope00 was hosted from May 12 to June 12, 2021, to celebrate the opening of contributor applications[5]. The giveaway winner was announced two days later to be Twitter user Rena_does_art[6]. Application results were sent out on July 1, 2021[7]. On July 31st, the project's newsletter was open for subscription[8].

Preorders opened from October 31 to December 12, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[9]:

  • Case 3: Wild Police Planner ($24 USD) - A5 Planner, Enamel Pin (Limited)
  • Case 2: Start Bundle ($36 USD) - A5 Planner, 4 Postcard Prints, 2 Sticker Sheets, Enamel Pin (Limited)
  • Case 1: Illustrations Bundle ($52 USD) - A5 Planner, Emoji Sticker Sheet, Wooden Omamori Charm, Enamel Pin (Limited), Artbook
  • Case 0: Beginning of Spring ($75 USD) - A5 Planner, 4 Postcard Prints, 2 Sticker Sheets, 2 Emoji Sticker Sheets, Wooden Omamori Charm, Tote Bag, Bonus Card, Enamel Pin (Limited), Artbook

The art book could be added onto purchases for Case 3 and Case 2 for an additional $18 USD. For the first week of preorders, Case 0 bundles were priced at $68 USD[10]. A share campaign was started on December 2, 2021, offering an additional bonsu print to all orders if the campaign posted reached a certain number of shares[11]. Two days before the original preorder deadline, preorders were extended to January 16, 2022[12].

Physical orders began shipping out on June 15, 2022>[13]. By June 23, 2022, all orders had been shipped[14]. In a quick summary of production details that were sent out to customers through the newsletter, the organizers reported that the project changed to the facilitate the production of two books and there were issues getting all the tote bags to be produced[15]. The original manufacturer ran out of stock, causing the organizers to find a new place for samples and then be hampered by lockdown before production, in addition to other mishaps such as incorrect mailer sizes. On December 4, 2022, the project was declared complete, and the organizing team was reported to have disbanded[16]. Leftover stock continued to be available for purchase on Etsy through KALandPals[17].
