Where I Can Follow is a nonprofit fanzine centered around sibling relationships in the Ace Attorney game series.

About

The project was first announced on June 2, 2022, on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter[1]. Only canonical characters were allowed to be featured, and ships were allowed to be featured in zine submissions, but only if they were in the background and need to be disclosed in a contributor's pitch[2].

Interest checks opened on June 7, 2022, and closed on July 4, 2022[3]. Over 400 respones were reported to have been received in social media posts highlighting results from the interest check[4]. Applications opened on July 10, 2022, for page artists, merch artists, and writers, and remained open until August 7, 2022[5]. On July 15, 2022, the organizers announced their chosen charity to be Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Australia[6].

Results were emailed out on August 15, 2022[7]. Hours later, as explained in a follow up post, the organizers made a post apologizing for a mix-up in zine emails that caused multiple applicants' emails and potentially sensitive information to be revealed[8]. Despite this, the project was able to move along into its creation period, as announced on September 8th[9].

Preorders opened on January 15, 2023, with the following pricing tiers[10]:

  • Sibling-In-Law ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Behind-The-Scenes PDF, Icons, Emotes, Desktop Wallpaper
  • Turnabout Sisters ($30 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine
  • Kleiner Bruder ($45 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Bookmark, Prints, Die-Cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet
  • Found Family ($55 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Bookmark, Prints, Die-Cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet, Random Acrylic Charm, Random Pin Badges
  • Pinkie Promise ($70 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Bookmark, Prints, Die-Cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charms, Pin Badges

For all physical bundles, digital merch could be added onto an order for $7 USD. Stretch goals included additional prints at 25 orders, an enamel pin at 50 orders, additional sticker sheets at 75 orders, washi tape at 25 orders, and an acrylic stand at 150 orders[11].

In collaboration with Pillars of Love, a writer-centric zine for Ace Attorney, magnets were offered to fans who ordered physical bundles from both zine projects[12]. In collaboration with the Ace Attorney Siblings Week 2023, a giveaway and share campaign that ran from January 29 to February 18 was hosted, the prize being a digital bundle of the zine to randomly selected participants[13]. A separate giveaway for a full bundle was hosted by the zine organizers themselves and ran from February 26 to March 11, 2023[14]. Preorders closed on March 16, 2023, but digital zine bundles could be purchased until shipping began[15].

Physical orders began shipping out on September 5, 2023[16]. Digital zines were sent out on September 27, 2023[17]. All shipping was completed by October 11, 2023[18]. The project's online store opened again on November 14, 2023, for leftover sales[19]. The store finally closed on December 9, 2023, when all items were sold out[20]. On December 31, 2023, donation announcement of $11,229.14 USD made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America was posted[21].
