Where Dreams Are Born is a het 68-page Beauty and the Beast (TV) zine.

It contains fiction by Barbara Hill. Hill described it as "a short story/coloring zine."

The cover and interior line drawings are by Terri Milliman

Included are childhood stories about Catherine and Vincent, an alternative ending to 'Orphans,' and other Catherine and Vincent short stories.

From the Editorial: Barbara Hill

Hill had some begrudging appreciation for the postal service:

I met Teri [Milliman] by way of the United States Post Office when she purchased my first zine. As little as I think of the P.O., I have to thank them for that.

Hill explained the creative process:

[Teri's] become a good friend, as our phone bills, printing bills, and postage bills will attest. Teri is bright and cheerful and she loves to talk as much as I do. Our minds seem to work on the same wave lengths, too, which was a really big help since we were trying to put this thing together by way of telephone and the mail.

We tried to coordinate our partnership in two ways. I would send Teri copies of my stories and she would draw something to go with it. Or she would send me copies of her drawings and I would see what came to mind for me. (That didn't quite work with a couple of her drawings, though. The thoughts that came to my mind couldn't be put in this zine since we were trying to keep it at a PG rating.) A couple of times, though, Teri called me with an idea for a drawing that went perfectly with a story I had just written and hadn't told her about yet. It felt like something straight out of The Twilight Zone. It was great!

Hill thanked her family for "putting up with me in spite of my new 'hobby'":

I know there are times when they think I've lost it a bit, but they simply shrug their shoulders and accept it. (It helps a little that they all happen to think Beauty and the Beast was a good television show. It helpst, too, knowing that when we get our movie, they'll all be right there with me opening night.) As far as the rest of it goes, I think they're waiting patently for me to "get over it." Just between you and me, though, they have a very long wait.
