I loved the idea of this story, Spock was especially well drawn and I liked seeing a 'real McCoy. (Sorry.)

If Kirk and Spock have to marry for the benefit of Vulcan and the Federation, then I suppose I wouldn't want the situation to have evolved any differently than it did in this a/u story. While some of the dialogue from both Kirk and Spock was a bit dry, I liked that the plot led to Kirk's discovery of how he had made too many erroneous assumptions about Spock. Ail those little discoveries gave the story an unusual degree of morality, and I liked that aspect very much. The overall flow and development was excellent -- no untied ends, and it accomplished what it set out to do. I was also giad that the pon farr wasn't the focal point- Kirk and Spock learning about each other was.
