What's Left of Me is a Veronica Mars fanvid by catherinebruce. It's use of the song "What's Left of Me" predates the song's use on the TV show. The vid also won numerous awards.[citation needed]

The vid was posted to neptune_video and was based on a request from divainblue at The LoVe Shack.

Reactions/Reviews

The vid was reviewed by flyingtapes at the_reel on July 30, 2006.

Overall Impression: "What's Left of Me" is a vid that works to show the development of Veronica and Logan's relationship over the last two seasons as well as concentrating on Logan's perspective in the relationship and his own developments over the last years.

Titles: I like the end title of the beginning sequence; it's cleverly captured and manipulated.

Music choice: It definitely conveys that kind of romanticness Logan has--in the old school sense, with all the death and pain attatched. You matched the clips well to the lyrics, too.

Narration, Tone and Movement: Wow, when you put it all together it really makes you realize just how fucked up poor Logan really is. You also work the relationship between Veronica and Logan into the structure of the storyline, and I think using clips from near the end of season two nicely frames the scope of their relationship.

Cuts, Transitions, Effects & Colouring/Coloring:

Specific vid & music notes:
I actually found the opening sequence distracting and unnecessary--while I think you could use the final title, indicating that you made the video, I would assume that anyone watching the vid would know who the characters are beforehand; so I'd suggest cutting it down to that final title.

Final notes:

This vid puts together its narrative well and you come out of it rooting for Veronica/Logan to make it. (Which I totally hope they do.)[1]

Comments on the vid announcement:

Honestly, I was extremely skeptical about finding any depth in a Nick Lachey song, but I really enjoyed the message that no matter how broken Logan became, he would always be there for Veronica. This is one of the best character studies I've seen, since it included that marvelous segment about Logan losing Lilly because of his father, Logan being abused, Logan and the bum fight, Logan losing Veronica to Duncan, Kendal, Logan winning Veronica back, etc. Thank you for such a wonderful tribute to my favorite character![2]
