QSMP for Palestine
I don't believe the erased paragraph to have been political commentary (as nothing of what I wrote was a personal opinion, but rather a brief explanation of facts and then the prevalent opinion among institutions recognized as experts on the matter, like Amnesty Int' and HRW), however, I recognize the lack of a direct citation from those organizations to have been an oversight. I'm also willing to concede that the description of context I gave was longer and much more detailed than what is usual for this kind of pages. I think it would have been fair to very significantly shorten that section (to say, a line, as is the average in similar pages), however, I don't believe it to be right to completely eliminate all mention of the scalation of Israeli violence on the Gaza Strip in the article proper.
You mention that no other Palestine charity event page contains this kind of information, and that is true, but I don't think that that's due to it not being relevant and specific to the event, but rather out of a lack of awareness of its importance to the article among the editors of those pages. As I see it, mentioning the name of the inciting event is relevant an specific to the topic, since the scalation of violence is the reason for the fundraiser to have happened at all. And if you check the pages for charity events motivated by other causes (specially those for the affected by natural disasters), you will notice that they do mention by name the event that incited them (for example see: Harringrove for Australia, Help Haiti or Fandom Loves Puerto Rico).
I do understand your broader point, though. I know your edit wasn't intentionally malicious in any way, and I am more than willing to compromise to following the standard practice for the mention of the inciting incident in these kind of pages, but I do think it is unfair to remove a direct mention when it is what sparked the event and when it is standard for pages about charity events championing other causes to include it.

To be clear, I was never against including a mention, I just didn't think an entire paragraph was warranted. :P Serilly (talk) 00:56, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
