Hi! I go by Ari around these parts -- also known as withalittlebitofwhump on Tumblr and SpiritedYoungLady on Archive Of Our Own. She/her or they/them pronouns are both fine with me.

Star Wars was my first real fandom. I fell head over heels for the whole world when I was about 8. My parents let me watch 20 minutes of Attack of the Clones shortly after it came out and I became obsessed with Zam Wessel (of all characters) and the bounty hunters. It took several years before I got around to watching the original trilogy. The Jedi Apprentice books, EU illustrated encyclopedias, and books on cassette tape we bought second hand at library book sales (Corellian Trilogy, anyone?) were my loves.

I'm enthusiastic about reading and writing SFF and I move in a lot of fannish spaces as an observer/consumer. I enjoy going to conventions and cosplaying, although I don't get to do it much now. I graduated from a public university in the US in 2017. Since then, I've developed a love for folklore, which contributes to my interest in documenting fan culture.

I've been on Tumblr since ~2010. I do have dalliances in fandoms still, but not like I used to. Now, I'm most active with the whump community on Tumblr, although I still occasionally make edits or playlists. I started my whump-focused blog in December 2014, which is practically the Jurassic in Tumblr whump blog terms. I'm responsible for the whump challenge, a rocky attempt at a whump-centric RPG, and that brief period of time where wombats were our mascot. I edit Wince Magazine (Tumblr link), a whump/hurt-comfort focused zine, and I'm hoping to get around to adding some more h/c content to this wiki.

My mainstay fandoms are Star Wars (particularly the original trilogy), The X-Files, Star Trek, and Studio Ghilbi (especially Howl's Moving Castle). I also dabble in Aubreyad/age of sail, Murderbot, Lord of the Rings, Traditional Ballads, and The Witcher.
