Bucky has a hard time enjoying his freedom. Zemo knows how to talk to dogs.

Zemo groans, and pulls his knees under himself, slowly managing to sit up. In the half-dark of the plane’s cargo hold, his face looks white as a sheet. “This was a test,” he murmurs to Bucky. “Perhaps,” T’Challa acknowledges. “Do you think you passed it?”
-Commentary
I love Zemo just enjoying pushing people’s buttons, but also the self-destructive streak he has as well - it’s such a deliciously toxic combo with Bucky’s inferiority complex. Bucky is great too - wanting to obey, but being torn with his understandable dislike towards Zemo. It’s also quite sad and telling that when he sees the butler’s expression to Zemo just.. prostrate on the floor... he’s familiar with it because he’s already imagined it being the look Steve would wear if/when he found out Bucky was into men :(
!!! Such a good chapter!! I mean, a bit dark, but you wrote it in not such a gory way and I did enjoy everything put into it, such as Zemo being a scary person - look, I'm a simple person, alright? I see a man being scared by people (not by being a terrible human being) and I am weak for it - and then Bucky thinking he should call T'Challa and give this up... and then wondering just how much didn't T'Challa expect this. This chapter was just really good in showing the similarities between Bucky and Zemo and I really enjoyed Zemo's POV. And then "But perhaps James distrusts these self-acclaimed gods not because of the power at their disposal but because of the things they didn’t do with it." What a great quote.
I was very excited when I knew the latest chapter was already updated! It took quite long, but I knew you'd finish it, and I am very happy you eventually felt well enough to continue the story! Thank you! It truly worth the wait! This fic is really precious to me, and because I've been following this since the very start of my winterbaron obsession, I feel a bit sentimental that it's finally completed now. What a ride! Like finally arriving to a long waited destination and looking back at the journey, knowing that it be one you remember fondly! This is still the best fanfic for me, it's just so special! I always wondered how you managed to create the characterization perfectly just like I wanted, but now I think it's another way around, it's I who enjoy your characterization and then adopts it to my preference because it's just too brilliant. The ending works so well, and it's true, it's never going to be an easy relationship for them. Gosh, I know I am gonna miss these two a lot! I'll keep cherishing this, and I can't thank you enough for bringing us this wonderful story and I wish you'll consider write more of them - not necessarily this series, could be a new one too- I really enjoy your writings <3
