Fannish History
In the 1980s I was just another young Duran Duran fan, quietly fanning with one school friend. In the 1990s I was the solo creator of the Duran Duran Timeline site, and quiet participant in many communities like the Lizard King forums, the ddfic mailing list, and the TTP gang. I have a lot of fond memories of those times!
(I was a fan of a lot of other music and TV shows during those years too, but somehow none of them drew me into their online fandoms in the same way.)
I moved on to other fandoms later, and continue to participate today, but under different names I'm not certain I want to link with my ancient (and oh so naive!) Artslave pseud just yet. :)

Still an artist, still enough of a "slave" to other people's enjoyment of my art that I don't regret the pseudonym. I also gained enough confidence to start writing and editing fic as well as reading it, and am trying to write original fiction as well.

For now, just resurrecting and sharing my memories of early Duran Duran fan history -- it was one of those old school zine-and-penpal fandoms that enthusiastically made the leap to the web, figuring out (and inventing!) what this "Internet" thing could do completely by the seat of our pants. Worth remembering, I think!
