The first Dean/Castiel fic posted on LJ, written the day Lazarus Rising aired. It's intense, and a bit dark, and I think perfectly captures the beginning of their profound bond.[1]
Posted on September 18, 2008, this was the very first Destiel fic ever posted and therefore deserves a place of honor on any ficrec blog. Not only that but it is really beautiful and so insightful. After only having seen Lazarus Rising, this author managed to give us a pretty accurate view of what Castiel and Dean experienced during Dean’s rescue from hell. Dean, struggling to hold on through the torture and the only thing he could say is, “Sam.” While Castiel falls for and possesses Dean almost immediately. It’s a match made in hell and every Destiel shipper should read this lovely introduction to the angel and hunter that break our hearts year after year.[2]
