The UKSRT (or its full name, UK Sight Reading Tournament) was a series of fannish rhythm game tournaments centering around fanmade song charts built within a custom fork of Roxor Games' In The Groove. Most of these annual events involve gimmicks, transformative patterns, and later on, fully-fledged parodies and character arcs based on certain franchises and fandoms. The series by itself gained popularity within the wider rhythm game community, especially towards the half-way official mascot of said events, Mawaru, even going so far as to further inspire future fans to make custom song charts themselves, utilizing their artistic, technological and aural prowess for expression.

Overview

As stated before, the UKSRT itself is a collection of fanmade charts of both popular and fanmade songs tailored for the modified ITG engine, often interspersed with original character and UI dialogue. Later event packs would also include fannish recreations and references to various fandoms, such as MAWARU GOLD (a parody of the Warioware Gold Nintendo 3DS game) in UKSRTX, for example, as well as developing its own in-universe lore.
