"Picture, if you will, Kirk demonstrating to Spock (who is not his lover) exactly how to masturbate. Yes...demonstrating. I find the scenario well nigh impossible to imagine. I really cannot picture 'my' Kirk just sitting down &...doing it...with Spock staring silently on. And yet...& yet, Vivian writing is so good that there it is happening, believably too, & no matter how many times I read it, it is so realistic that I still squirm with embarrassment. The whole subject is brought up by Spock who asks if it brings relief from present pain. Kirk offers to show him. Spock refuses, then succumbs, then tries it for himself only to find his fantasies taking a wrong turning. (Or right turning, depending on your point of view.) [1]
