Star Trek Reverse Bang is a Reverse Bang, i.e. a fanart/fanfic challenge akin to a Big Bang, only with the fanart created first to inspire the fic. Also the minimum word count is only 6k, less than with most Big Bangs. The idea was proposed by Ileliberte in August 2009 when she posted a poll to gauge interest.

The first Reverse Bang was held in 2010. Sign-ups started in January 2010, the finished collaborations were posted from the middle of May to the end of June. There were 37 pieces of art and 42 pieces of fic in total. The event was repeated in 2011 and 2012.
