Torn is a Starsky/Hutch slash novel by Morgan Logan. The original edition has 62 pages, and has 106 pages in the 2016 edition. The author warning it "has difficult content, so be fairly warned." [1]
From the zine's intro: "Everything I know about slash sex I learned from Flamingo, Rosemary and Charlotte Frost. This is all their fault."
Summary from Lulu Press: Undercover and out of reach, even the best efforts of the BCPD are unable to protect Hutch from being abducted and abused by a man with a vicious agenda. Now Starsky has to locate his best friend and rescue him. As always, the partners are short on time.
From a one-time distributor, Agent With Style:
"Hutch goes undercover as bait for a rapist/murderer of gays. Even the best efforts of the BCPD are unable to protect him from being abducted and abused by a man with a vicious agenda. Now Starsky has to locate his best friend and rescue him. As always, the partners are short on time. In this first-time novella written by Morgan Logan, there is a non-graphic rape description (Hutch's), angst a-plenty and lots of H/C."
From the author in 2016:
"Undercover and out of reach, even the best efforts of the BCPD are unable to protect Hutch from being abducted and abused by a man with a vicious agenda. Now Starsky has to locate his best friend and rescue him. As always, the partners are short on time. (offscreen rape cw, recovery fic, Hutch h/c, first time.) Beta by Padawan Ula Luva, Brynn H and Lavender Jade." [2]
A Floating Zine
It was molo's second work of fiction, and she always claimed, as such, she would never publish it online. 75 physical copies were published and sold, and molo organized the distribution of a "floating" copy that made the rounds world-wide before traveling home again, with a hand-written notebook of feedback from the readers. This is very similar to how fans shared fan fiction during the 1970s-80s-90s, such as The Professionals Circuit.
A 2016 comment from the author: "[It] traveled the world 2.5 times as a floating zine before one unfortunate fan selfishly kept it in Italy."
The floating library copy is still available for reading. Those interested should Contact Molo.
