Ziva/Tony is a momentarily canon small pairing from NCIS fandom, formed by agents David and DiNozzo.

Canon

The personal relationship between Ziva and Tony was never one of the best throughout the show, with great animosity and hatred clashing with each other. Mainly because Ziva knew Kate's killer, went undercover as a Mossad double agent at NCIS (at first glance), and always lied about her past connections. Ie, the character was rudely introduced into the environment, with great animosity towards her. Over the seasons though, Ziva's relationship with the team improved, but it did not become equal to that of the other members. She was always put aside within the NCIS team, which led to a small amount of hatred towards her from some fans. That's why when the ship was introduced within the show between her and Tony, many were unhappy. Even more so that it was introduced after the emergence of a book written by McGee that was inspired by the lives of his colleagues and used them as characters in his stories. Some fans felt this was a mistake.[citation needed]

Fandom

Compared to other fandom pairings, this ship's popularity is fairly small for a canon couple, losing in numbers to Gibbs/DiNozzo's fanon relationship. An example of this is the number of works published in AO3 until November 2022, Anthony DiNozzo/Jethro Gibbs have 4402 works[1] against Ziva David/Anthony DiNozzo with only 1572 works.[2]
