The core characters are young animated characters attending ACME Looniversity, where they being taught by the classic Looney Tunes characters.

  • Plucky Duck- a green duck based on Daffy Duck
  • Hampton J. Pig- a pig loosely based on Porky Pig
  • Fifi La Fume- a purple female skunk based on Pepe La Pew
  • Dizzy Devil, a purple Tasmanian devil

In addition to the series, there was a direct-to-video movie, "How I Spent My Vacation" and a Christmas special were released in 1992. Two additional specials The Tiny Toons Spring Break Special and Tiny Toons' Night Ghoulery, a Halloween show, were released in 1994 and 1995 respectively. The show ended after it's 3rd season in favor of a new series Animaniacs, which featured much of the same crew. Some fans consider Animaniacs to be spin-off since some of the same characters appear.

In 2023, a reimagining called Tiny Toons Looniversity premiered on the streaming service Max and Cartoon Network. One notable change made is that Buster and Babs are twins.
