Summary
From the zine flyer: "Kirk and Spock have tracked the renegade Vulcan scientist, S'Von, to Gateway, the home of the Guardian of Forever, in an attempt to stop his mad plans to return to Vulcan's distant past and change his planet's future. In the process, both S'Von and Spock are pulled into the Guardian's time field and both find themselves 6,000 years in the past, on a planet where barbarism and warfare rule, where Surak's reforms are yet to happen, and in which Spock must not only learn to survive, but track down his adversary and figure out a way to return to the future. Meanwhile, Kirk searches through time to find his lost First Officer ... in a world that has changed around him due to their actions in the past."
The author's summary: Chasing S'Von, a mad Vulcan who is intent on going back through the Guardian of Forever and changing Vulcan history by destroying Spock's family, both he and Spock are accidentally thrown back over 5,000 years into Vulcan's past. S'Von immediately goes about launching a war of conquest while Spock faces the daunting task of somehow finding him and getting him back to the future. Meanwhile, Spock begins to revert into his warlike ancestors and leads the fight with his own warrior clan.
Author's Comments
I originally wrote this back in 1999 as a professional ST novel. But by the time I'd finished it, Pocket Books informed me they weren't doing any more time travel novels and so I published it on my own as a fanzine. Hope you enjoy the adventure!
By the way, as I was writing this, I consulted with D. C. Fontana to see if there had been a family name created for Spock but never used. She informed me that they'd never actually created one, just referenced it, so feel free to "just make it up like I do". With permission from the "top", I created the House of Ni'ikhirch. There are other fan-created family names, but this one is mine, as are the other Vulcan Houses and characters. [1]
