This is Halloween is a popular AMV in the Soul Eater fandom. As of January 2024, the two most popular re-uploads and the original AMV on Youtube had a combined almost 31 million views.

Creator's Notes

So one year ago, AllyKatAVR made a boredom video that had a few seconds of "This is Halloween" and Soul Eater together. it was a fun vid and a fun idea, and I played with the idea of doing it myself. Of course this was like, a week before Halloween and I had just gotten into Soul Eater, so it probably wasn't the best idea to do right then.

So here I am one year later.

And with 51 eps instead of the 11 or so I had seen. Yeah, I can deal with that~

I wanted to make this video different from other Soul Eater AMVs, I didnt want to just focus on Maka, Soul, Black Star and Kid, I wanted to show everything about Soul Eater. I tried to fit as many characters as I could, and use scenes that aren't common in amvs. I also tried to stay away from the scenes that are common, but that couldn't always be helped (They're overused for a reason, after all!). I used many scenes of different villians and one-shot monsters, and anything creepy I could find. Surprisingly, I had to kind of stretch myself to finish this, as chanting "This is Halloween" doesn't give you much lyric sync to work with ^^;

I had a great time making this amv, and very glad I was able to release this on Halloween, even if that meant working on it until 11:00pm, October 30th. Good times, good times.

I really hope you enjoy this AMV, I put a lot of hard work into it, and I think it paid off. And last but not least...Happy Halloween!

I FOUND YOU! Anyway, lol, thank you for making this. It's truly amazing, and one of the most well known AMVs to be created. During the time you made this, there practically was no such thing as 'Amazing AMVs', but after your AMV got repubed, it seemed other editors wanted to try and push themselves to get their skills and quality of AMVs to your quality and skill. And then the other well known AMV came out 'Into the Labyrinth', and that suddenly sparked even more ambition into other editors. I seriously think your AMV really inspired others to push themselves far beyond their own capabilities. And now, we have so many amazing AMVs all over youtube. And i truly think it was you, and the creator of 'Into the Labyrinth' are the ones who set the bar and paved the way to editing of now. :)
