The fic was written in response to a challenge posted at Death-Marked Love.[1]

- Buffy and one other scooby learning about William/Spike's past.
- It must of course be a B/S fic and preferably have a happy ending

- A phone call from Angel
- A coffee
- The spirit of the slayer from 1880

I'm a long-time Spuffy fan revisiting the classics this summer-and yours is certainly one of them. Love, love, love how the Scoobies don't immediately get that demon in question is Spike. And great job with all the character voices and dialogue. Your settings and descriptions are vivid and you write an ensemble well (not as easy as it sounds, I know). I first read this story...well, when you first wrote and posted it, so it's nice to read it again and discover it's just as delightful as an encore. Thanks for writing and sharing this story.[2]
