theconfessioncam was an infamous anonymous submissions blog on Tumblr for the Total Drama fandom. It harbored harassment about BNFs in the fandom at the time, (some of whom were minors), ship hate, and confessions focused only on the show. Over time, the blog became mostly for BNF bashing and practically created a fandom war between the "td populars" and the "anti td populars."

The term td populars was coined by the anons on this blog for fans they deemed to be social justice warriors who bullied other fans for their ships and favorite characters. One character, Mike, essentially split the fandom in half. "Mike haters" were td populars and "Mike fans"/fans who were neutral were anti td populars/unaligned. This fandom war would last throughout 2014. When it was all but official that cherriquitecontrary ran the blog on 20 January, a so called "anti td popular," the fandom war began.

A mod, almost certainly Cherri, said this about the blog's history. Circa 28 Jan 2014.

The blog, who ran it, and why, casted a shadow on the fandom for years. Although the blog supposedly had multiple mods, most fans at the time believed that it was solely ran by Cherri, and that she shifted blame towards "the other mods" to save face. The same may be said for the anons themselves, especially later on, since the majority of harassing confessions would only target particular td populars instead of a wide range of them, and the fandom war, "against the populars," was largely confined to Cherri and her circle of friends. It wasn't until around 2016 that the fandom fully moved on from it, and even as of the 2020s, theconfessioncam is still referenced in discussion as one of the fandom's biggest dramas on Tumblr.

Most fans also believe that Cherri was a sockpuppet for "Tasha," an infamous harasser in the fandom. For more information, see Hey I'm newish to the td fandom so do mind me asking who Tasha is?

A few days before theconfessioncam deactivated, a copycat blog known as antitotaldramapopulars sprang up to be all for BNF bashing. The two blogs deactivated on 17 February. Later, tdgossipgirl would be created, a rebranding of an already existing anonymous confessional blog. They have both since deactivated, and tdgossipgirl infamously lasted for only around two hours after rebranding itself.

theconfessioncam would inspire other fans to create similar anonymous confession blogs for Total Drama, such as theconfessiontrailer, ^{Archived version} and totaldramacampers, ^{Archived version}, before and after its deactivation. As of 2024, Total Drama Takes is the most popular anonymous confession blog for the show.

The confessioncam used to be a basic td confessions blog about the show itself but then they started taking confessions about the fandom too and some werent too bad like "this fandom sucks for hating [character]" and then they started getting too comfortable w being on anon and straight up harassing people. They got to the point of racism and homophobia and transphobia and one even got to sexual harassment. The blog was deleted in 2014 but before the deletion (which took literal MONTHS) everything else was a mess and there were even a few losers supporting the blog and people reporting it to tumblr wouldnt get good results bc 1. You werent featured on it and they wanted to hear from the people featured on it and/or 2. They would see no violations/call it protected under freedom of speech or some weird ass bull and like even after the person who ran it was exposed the blog would STILL UPDATE LOL and then everything got so much worse after like td fanbase is full of weirdos as it is rn but like back then everything went to shit lmao
