The Worst Witch is a popular British children's book series by Jill Murphy, the first volume of which was published in 1974. The series follows an inexperienced young witch, Mildred Hubble, as she studies at Cackle's Academy, a magical boarding school.

The series has been adapted a number of times: as a 1986 TV film, a 1998 TV series with two spin-offs, and a 2017 TV series.
