About
From a flyer:
This is a special collection of Classic Trek stories, reprinting the works of Fan-Q Award nominee Bonnie Reitz. The stories concentrate on a variety of subjects, from the Mirror-Kirk to a shape-changing creature all too similar to the werewolves of Earth's past, from Uhura in command to an alternate universe. Bonnie's works are so wildly varied that there's little consistency to the stories (forget about a Bonnie Reitz Universe). Instead, she is interested in plots, not world-building.
From the Editorial
Unlike the Star Wars universe, the Star Trek universe leaves a writer a lot of room to play, with and without the series’ main characters. As you’ll see by the stories in here, I’ve got a rabid fondness for werewolves, Romulans and mirror-Kirks.
This mirror-universe isn’t the one that appeared in "Mirror, Mirror." In this one, Kirk is a warrior, but not an evil one. My favorite story in here is "Eyes of the Wind," which has adventure, a dangerous mystery to solve, and the mirror-Kirk.
Another character I really liked (and wished she had been done differently) was Uhura. So much potential there. She ended up with an entire novella of her own (Kefrendar), and two stories-one as she is, and one as I imagined her to be in the mirror-universe.
The mirror-universe stories are the only ones with any kind of story continuity. There’s a vague temporal story-line with the werewolves, virtually unknown in "Masks," which are being used by the Federation as their own agents in "Hunters." Otherwise, each story is in a little capsule on its own--in some, they know facts, in others, they don’t. (In other words, forget about a Bonnie Reitz Universe.) Plots interest me, not world-building. So there are two or three versions of plots leading up to a possible Romulan treaty.

But someone...something on board opposes her command, and is willing to risk everything... and everyone to have her relieved of command. An excellent piece, nominated for a Fan-Q Award.")
