The Unusuals is an ABC comedy-procedural drama show that stars Amber Tamblyn as Detective Casey Shraeger and Jeremy Renner as her new partner, Detective Jason Walsh.
Canon
Detective Casey Shraeger transferred to the NYPD's Homicide unit from Vice at the request of Sergeant Harvey Brown who wants her to clean up his station. Her new partner is Jason Walsh, whose previous partner was murdered the same night Shraeger was assigned to him.
Walsh's ex-partner was a corrupt cop but was also investigating other corrupt cops namely Det. Henry Cole, who had changed his name after he and his friend robbed an armored car when he was younger. Cole's partner is Det. Allison Beaumont, who is later revealed to be Walsh's girlfriend.
The show also follows three other detectives, all of them dealing with their own problems and special quirks. Det. Leo Banks wears a bulletproof vest everywhere he goes because he is afraid he will die at age 42 because his family did. Banks' partner is Det. Eric Delahoy who is hiding a secret from everyone - that he has a brain tumor and has had frequent near-death experiences. Det. Eddie Alvarez rounds out the main characters, Alvarez is the station's "lone wolf" and continuously talks about himself in the third person. He is usually at the blunt end of a joke thanks to the station who generally dislike him because he's not a team player.
The show was canceled after 10 episodes, and was left off with a cliffhanger.

The Unusuals is a very small fandom and was a Yuletide fandom in 2009 [1].
The most popular pairings were the het ships of Casey/Jason and Allison/Jason and the slash ship of Leo/Eric was also fairly popular. Crossovers with S.W.A.T. and The Avengers film are pretty common, especially focusing on Jason Walsh due his actor, Jeremy Renner, being in both.
