"The Time Between" by Kuan-yin is a 22 page reprinted story in SOULMATES 1. It's the shorter of two stories in SOULMATES 1. It's a tear jerker, but then I easily cry. It's set during ST II. "The Time Between" refers to the time between a death and the funeral, and the main plot of the story is Kirk's grief over Spock's death. This is non-explicit K/S. In fact, most may not even call it K/S at all. Spock manages to reach Kirk telepathically and assure him of his love and help him with his grief. It's a very nicely written story, and I enjoyed it a lot. I basically like almost everything this writer has done. (She's a well known fandom writer, but not by the name Kuan-yin.) Since I have never read the original zine TREK-ON that it was published in, I am glad that this story was reprinted. [1]
