The TJLC Month in Review is a monthly round-up of meta about The Johnlock Conspiracy posted by sherlock-overflow-error to her personal Tumblr account.

It's no secret that TJLC has gone through a slump since Season 4 aired. But meta writers are still out there crafting theories and analyzing the show. Because the fandom landscape has changed a lot, though, it's not as easy to keep up with new developments. I've started keeping track of new meta that come out[1]

Structure

How it Works

Each month’s post is organized into categories. I try to cover:

  • People are Talking About… (if applicable, meta that gain over 500 notes, result in very long discussion chains, or have otherwise had an immense impact on current interpretations of the show)
  • Fandom News (events besides meta that you should know about)
  • Meta about Season 4 Only
  • Meta about Any/All Seasons
  • Intertextual Meta (links to stuff outside BBC Sherlock or Sherlock Holmes)
  • Mini Meta
  • The Powers that Be (what Mofftiss and other people involved with the show are up to)
  • In Case You Missed It (the 2-3 most influential meta from the previous issue, plus the ones I missed in that issue)
  • Back from the Dead (old meta that have become popular again)
  • Coming Soon (meta in the works)[2]

Past Editions

2018 TJLC Meta Awards

In 2018, sherlock-overflow-error organized the first TJLC Meta Awards, presented by the TJLC Month in Review.

Between now and December 31st, 2018, nominate posts for any of the categories below by replying or reblogging this post or by sending me an ask or a message. You can nominate as many posts as you’d like in as many categories as you’d like, as long as they’re not your own.

Any post made in 2018 can be nominated. Not sure if something counts as a meta? Nominate it; it probably does!

From January 1st to January 9th, 2019, vote for any of the nominees in any category. Nominees and awardees will be featured in the TJLC Year in Review, to be published January 10th.[11]
