Reactions and Reviews
This story isn't very believable. There is no reason why Spock shouldn't be able to attain the proper level of meditation in his quarters aboard ship. Anyone with the training and experience that Spock has knows that it's possible to meditate deeply in a crowded room. Requiring a deserted planet in order to maintain concentration is implying that Spock has no control, discipline, training or experience, and makes him astonishingly incompetent. We are also told that all Vulcans are doing this same meditation at once. Surely, they don't all don't go off and find deserted planets for themselves. It makes no sense. [1]
