I argued with myself which of Mrs. Hamill's stories I should recommend, and chose this one simply because I don't think it's as well-known as it deserves. This story is, basically, a good old-fashioned gorgeous romance without much plot save getting Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan - who aren't Master and Padawan here, most of the time a plus in my book - together. Being a Mrs. Hamill story, it's of course splendidly written, the characterisation is spot on, there's no sentimentalism and the sex scenes are incredible. Also, this fic contains some of the most wonderfully sizzling kisses in fanfic. The first time I read it I had a huge, silly grin on my face by the time I'd finished. It's just one of the fics that's so perfect, so satisfying, that you want a smoke at the end. [1]
An injured Qui-Gon is sent very much against his will to a paradise planet to be healed. He's the only one there who acts like a proper Jedi, to his mind, until he meets Obi-Wan, who's even more ascetic than he is.The two Knights have engrossing philosophical skirmishes and become friends, but Obi-Wan's self-imposed chastity prevents further intimacy. Both men grow in understanding and empathy during the course of their conversations, and Obi-Wan may finally be ready for a change in outlook.
The hot springs, where many of their fascinating debates take place, make a lush backdrop and enhance their healing. And their love story is as beautiful as its setting.

This is an easy and fun read. I really like the fics where Qui-Gon meets Ob-Wan in a different setting and they don't have to deal with the whole padawan/master thing - which is the whole point, I know, but see what I mean by easy? Sometimes, you just want to cheat.[3]
