The Rules of the Game is a Chakotay/Paris slash story by Cassatt. It's part two of The Killing Game Series.
Summary: Sequel to It's All In How You Play The Game. Chakotay and Tom try to deal with the situation in which they now find themselves. In the aftermath of Hirogen Hell, they wonder - can they be friends, knowing more? Can they have more? Decisions need to be made, decisions that have long-term ramifications for themselves, for each other, and for their captain.

Cassatt: "The Rules of the Game". C/P. An AU followup to the events that occurred in The Killing Game. How would Chakotay deal with an ultimate betrayal from someone he implicitly trusted? How would Tom? A very in-character Janeway, as compelling in fanfic as she was in canon, relentlessly in pursuit of what she wanted--even if it was something she had no claim over. The C/P angst is exquisite.[1]
