sheppard/mckay, pg. set in season 1, post-"the brotherhood", a story from atlantis's pov and also john's and rodney's. about iq tests and high iq societies, in part, and a genius-level-intelligent sheppard. it is a fanon idea that doesn't come across as fanon here because of the way it's made the object of focus, one of the pillars of the story. the omnisicient atlantis pov is very cool, too, and the whole tone has an entertaining and pretty smooth flow.[1]

This is incredibly cool. I love the way you wrote it, and the little details you add in to make it work.[2]

There are no words, the rhythm of this story and your sentences, wow.

♥ everything, especially Atlantis.[3]

Lovely, classic Sab fic. I like the quick, choppy rhythm, the back-and-forth between Rodney and John, with Atlantis as the facilitating, silent participant.[4]

Wow. I -- wow.

this is amazingly impressive. I love the shifting points of view, and especially Atlantis itself as a point of view. And you make Atlantis feel like a person (though not like a human).

Plus: Zelenka learning Greek!

And the way everybody looks so sexy seen through everybody else's eyes!

I adored this.[5]

This was great! I usually find shifting perspective in a sex scene really annoying, but it worked really well in this one. Kudos for pulling that off! Elsewhere, I enjoyed the shifting POV and the way Atlantis's view on things pulled everything together. I loved the way you brought the mental and the physical together in this. It was as though the two were constantly striving for dominance in both their minds. There were lots and lots of little things I liked, but for some reason John's reasoning that his intuitive grasp of the right answer to the final problem was 'cheating' really struck me the most. It says so much about the way he thinks - so very different from Rodney.

Thanks. I really enjoyed this.[6]

Really an awesome fic. I know I'm echoing the masses when I say the Atlantis POV really worked here, but it bears repeating. I liked too that Atlantis wasn't just enamored with John, but both of them, and that the city felt almost responsible for the two of them. The city worked for me as a character and it doesn't always do that in fics.

Nice job. I only had one place where I got thrown out of the story, and that was the paragraph that begins: "When Rodney rocks his head back to open his throat and takes John in ...". I don't mind a run-on sentence in a sex scene and I don't mind fragments and such either when used stylistically. What threw me was that this whole paragraph starts with "when" making it one big long dependent clause. I kept waiting for something to balance it--"when" this happens, then this--but because of all the conjunctions nothing came. If that's not clear, I can explain what I mean.

Thanks again for a great story.[7]

I did like this - it's so smart and charming and funny - it kept me on the edge of a snigger for most of it - and also with the hot. My goodness - the lovely *lovely* hotness.

You had me dashing back and forth to my dictionary, and on-line searches on several occasions, to decipher a few of the terms - which I usually (lazily) wouldn't worry about - but felt this story deserved the time to truly understand what I was reading.

Also - I loved your Atlantis; of *course* she's a strong-willed, smarty-pants - it just goes to figure, really.[8]

Okay, so I finally had a chance to read this, and god. GOD. I love the pace, the fits and starts, I ADORE ATLANTIS as living, as protecting them. The ending should be knighted, or sainted, or both. Thank you for sharing, I loved this.[9]

I adored "WHYG, Tom Glavine' and probably never told you, so I want to make sure I leave a comment at this amazing story. I am a puddle of goo here, thanks to you and the ungodly July heat. I love everything about this, not the least of which is Rodney getting some Atantis love for a change. You always read how the city loves John, but this is the first fic where I've seen Rodney get some of this.

I think part of why I find SGA fandom so appealing is that John and Rodney have a very Casey and Dan vibe to them, and I guess I just fangirl geek boys in love.

I am in awe of the math and science and detail in this story. And the ending was beautiful. *memories*[10]

This is a lovely, lovely fic -- incredibly hot (It's the third night in a row he's had a sex dream about Rodney McKay, nggh) and satisfying (I don't know why, but I just love Rodney being jealous because John has the gene). I also suspect there are tricks I don't realize you're using but that make this such a well written and delectable story, like bringing the last question on the Hoeflin test in the middle of the sex scene. If I ever get my brain working when I read this I will definitely investigate! Sadly, it tends to melt into a puddle of happiness.[11]
