The Merciless is a South Korean thriller film directed by Byun Sung-hyun, starring Sol Kyung-Gu and Im-Siwan. The film released on May 17th, 2017 in South Korea and had its world premiere at the 70th Cannes Film Festival on May 24th, 2017.
Canon Overview
The film follows Jo Hyunsoo, a young cop who goes undercover as an inmate to approach the notorious gangster Han Jaeho. As Hyunsoo gets closer to Jaeho and becomes involved in the crime world, he finds himself questioning his own loyalty. Meanwhile, Jaeho gradually grows more infatuated with Hyunsoo.
