Publisher's Summary
Arriving on a new planet to explore, meet any locals, and study a nearby nebula, the Atlantis team are surprised to find an old friend of Ronon's, a former runner, in a position of power, and what may be a city of the Ancients now abandoned to be an object of intense interest. Bit by bit, however, the team begins to suspect that Ronon's old friend has sinister motives for his warm welcome, motives that will have him not caring who gets hurt, including Ronon, so long as he gets the technology, and power, he craves. To complicate things further, there's anecdotes about dragons, scaled creatures that walk upright and guard the city, but no one knows why they're there, or what they are capable of.
