The Joxer Dance, aka Dancing In The Moonlight, is a "found" vid - that is, a sequence found by Melina in the "Lyre Lyre Hearts On Fire" episode of Xena: Warrior Princess. The episode features a hilariously anachronistic "Battle of the Bands" in which Joxer's brother Jace, flamboyantly dressed and sporting an impossible Spanish accent, sings the 1972 pop hit Dancing In The Moonlight to an enthusiastic audience, who erupt into spontaneous choreography and then a conga line.

Melina's idea was that the clip would make a good opening vid for the first Club Vivid in 2003, and despite the dubiousness of the concom (astolat and Elynross admit to skepticism but admit they were wrong), she isolated the clip and made credits for it. According to Melina, the first year people watched the clip and laughed, but in subsequent years - and largely spurred on by Flo - fans attending Club Vivid began practicing and performing the vid's elaborate chorography and performing it that night in front of the screen, along with the characters. Thus did the vid shift from being Dancing In The Moonlight to being The Joxer Dance (even though it's technically Joxer's brother Jace's dance and song; they're twins; two of three triplets; long story.) The number of fans doing The Joxer Dance grew with each year of Club Vivid, and eventually most fans in the room joined in the called-for conga line. "The Joxer Dance is starting!" was a cry heard at the start of all Club Vivids, and became a con-defining event; this vid was shown at the start of every Club Vivid since the beginning, and was also featured in the 2010 Club Vivid Retrospective show.

F1renze and sweetestdrain remixed The Joxer Dance for the 2006 Vividcon Remix challenge; the new vid, Repeat After Me, features not only Xena but due South and Queer As Folk (US).
