The Intangible Residuum: A Collection Of Stories is a podfic anthology, a collection of podfic stories recorded by reena jenkins and covering a wide range of authors and fandoms. The anthology was created to celebrate "atypical" stories.

From the reader:

"Once upon a time, I thought to myself, "Self, that was a really great story. And, it wasn't the usual kind of story, either. It was unique. You should podfic it!" ("You should podfic it!" is a pretty common response whenever I read a fic I enjoy... just in case you were wondering.) And then I kept reading more fanfic, and noticing more and more stories that were told atypically, and thought, "Self, you should make a podfic anthology of all the awesome 'different' stories you like so much. So, that's what this is: an anthology of several (though, by no means ALL) atypical stories. Whether it's because the story's told in a non-standard format, or if the topic of the story itself is something unique, or if it's a new writing style....all the fics in this anthology are 'different'. I don't pretend that this is a comprehensive list (there's only a dozen or so fandoms represented), but I do think that every single story presented is worth an extra listen or two..... The title is part of a Willa Cather quote: "Every fine story must leave in the mind of the sensitive reader an intangible residuum of pleasure, a cadence, a quality of voice that is exclusively the writer's own, individual, unique."[1]

The collection consists of 24 fics from 12 fandoms. There's gen, het, and slash.

Reactions/Reviews:

"OKAY i. have absented myself from lj/fandom for the last several months, but TODAY. FINALLY. i came back to my messages, downloaded your reading of my story, and sat on my porch in my pajamas with a glass of iced coffee and my cats and THE HUGEST SMILE KNOWN TO MAN. you are a freaking wonderful reader; i love your inflections, your pacing, the way you structured the story with SOUND BITES OMG. i am so happy you chose this for your anthology! sorry i was so foot-draggy with responses while you were mid-project /o\"[3]

"[She] created a monumental and fanciful, astounding podifc compendium called The Intangible Residuum: A Collection Of Stories... many of which are gen and which are all quirky and fascinating."[4]
