Reactions and Reviews
1992
Spock's"fathering" a child is an interesting idea. Good no-nonsense characterization. Charming conversation between Kirk and Spock. A very sweet drawing-together, and quite good sex. [1]
1998
The crew of the Enterprise discover that Spock has a seven year old son. That’s the gist of the story, leading to an inevitable confrontation between Kirk and Spock. I had trouble accepting some of her views. I know it’s purely fantasy but realistically speaking, would the head nurse of a ware, or for that matter any nurse, start babbling about something she accidentally saw in a confidential file? Would the senior bridge crew discuss that same topic in the presence of new ensigns? If Spock had to produce an heir, why have that child adopted into another clan? Is there a reason why Spock’s medical file wasn’t updated when his child was born but after seven years? She left me with many questions. [2]
