In addition to the regular awards that have been given in most years that the awards have been active, several discontinued Hugo Awards have been presented throughout the years, only to be removed after a few years. Several of these were awards for fans, such as #1 Fan Personality (1953); Outstanding Actifan (1958); and Best Web Site (2002 and 2005).
#1 Fan Personality (1953)
- Winner - Forrest J Ackerman
History records that immediately after he was handed the very first Hugo Award as #1 Fan Personality at the 1953 Worldcon, Ackerman declined it in favor of Ken Slater and abandoned the little rocket-shaped trophy on stage to be forwarded to Britain.
