Reactions and Reviews

The first story in this issue is a charming tale of how the inhabitants of a planet meet up with members of the Federation for the first time. The planet's inhabitants are winged reptiles, and this story has excellent illustrations by Doug Herring. [1]

A sweet little tale of an elder dragon telepathically recounting to dragon-children the story of their first encounter with humans - the Enterprise landing party. The dragons, believing the humans responsible for injuries to one of their children, are about to wage bloody, fiery war, but thanks to Spock's telepathy all is sorted out. [2]

I can't remember if I talked to you after reading #6. Paul's story was such fun. I was delighted to see it. "The Day the Dragons Went to War" is the best writing you have done -- really an excellent story with beautiful imagery. [3]

I thought this story [was] good, too. The illustrations looked more like gargoyles to me than dragons. [4]
