The Anime Nostalgia Project is a fannish podcast run by Dawn H. that hosts discussion and reviews of classic anime series and anime fandom, along with reactions to modern-day revivals of series like Urusei Yatsura.

The Anime Nostalgia Project promotes legal streaming over piracy, with the podcast's Tumblr page maintaining a long list of official North American streaming sites for classic anime since 2013.[1] In 2016, Dawn H. questioned Stu Levy of Tokyopop over a fansubbed version of Angel's Egg that Tokyopop had recently uploaded to their official YouTube channel. Levy admitted that Tokyopop had not acquired the rights to Angel's Egg and the video was deleted.[2]

About

Did you have a fondness for anime in the 80s or 90s? Or maybe you’re a younger fan who just appreciates the look and feel of anime from that era? Or hell, maybe you just want to know more about anime and fandom in general from someone who’s been around for a while. If any of those sound relevant to you, you’ve come to the right place!

The Anime Nostalgia podcast started when Usamimi (hey, that’s me!) decided it had been a long time since she watched some of the anime she original saw in the early days of her love of anime way back when. So why not see if she still felt the same way about them? And from that, Anime Nostalgia was born!

Anime Nostalgia’s all about older anime. Why were some titles so important? And why should newer fans watch them (or at least learn a little about them?) In my podcasts, guests and I will talk about those very topics, as well as what fandom, the anime/manga market, conventions, and other relevant things were like back before you could just watch anime with a click of a mouse. I’ll also have shorter episodes reviewing older anime that I haven’t seen in ages, to see if I still like (or hate!) them…or if I even remember what they were about. ;D
