This infobox template is used for articles on tropes, genres, and motifs found in fanworks.
Usage
To embed this template into an article, copy & paste the code below to the top of the article:
{{Trope |synonym= |related= |see also= |image= |image caption= |image alt text= |category= }}
Key
All fields are optional.
- Synonym: Synonymus terminology used for the article's topic.
- Related: Tropes and genres that are related to the article's topic.
- See also: Related pages that are not other trope or genre articles.
- Image: A visual fanwork that demonstrates the article's subject. Only the file name is needed and should be used. The template will truncate [[File:]] and similar markup, and arguments in [[File:]] markup passed to image may result in unexpected behavior.
- Image caption: A caption for the image. Good information to put here is a short description of the image, title, and author information, and so on.
- Image alt text: Alt text for the image; this should be a description of the image and its contents.
- Category: If given the argument escape, the template does not add the page to the category Tropes & Genres. In most cases, this parameter should be left alone.
This template also adds the page to "Category:Tropes & Genres". Some tropes are also glossary terms and should get both the Glossary category and the Tropes & Genres category. However, they can use only one infobox; when in doubt, use the tropes template and add the Glossary category manually.
Example
The following code will produce the example infobox displayed:
Tropes and genres | |
---|---|
