Usage

This template is for pages about essays, articles, papers, books, etc., written about fandom from an external point of view. The commentary may be written by someone who happens to be a fan if they are writing for a non-fannish audience.

Articles specifically about press commentary on fandom should use Template:CommentaryPress instead.

Articles specifically about academic commentary on fandom should use Template:CommentaryAcademic instead.

Articles about fannish meta essays should use Template:MetaEssay instead.

The template will automatically include the category "Perspectives on Fans" on the page.
