Template:AnnotatedFanwork
Introduction
This template was created to produce lists of annotated fanworks in a format that would be more informative and easy to parse than a simple unordered list. I was originally just going to use this for fanfiction and meta, but hopefully it could be used for just about any fanwork. Please leave a note on the talk page if you think there's anything that could be improved or is missing.
Usage
Copy, paste, and fill out the below:
{{AnnotatedFanwork | title= | author= | url= | archive= | fandom= | length= | medium= | pubdate= | lastdate= | status= | genre= |annotation= }}
Key
title and annotation are the only required fields. All other fields will only appear if you fill in information.
- title = The title of the fanfiction, meta, fanart, or whatever fanwork you're listing — note that this can be an internal link or an external link. Defaults to "Untitled" if left blank.
- author = Whoever wrote, drew, or otherwise produced the work.
- url = The URL online where the work can be found; use this if you made the title an internal link.
- archive = The archive URL, if you have one.
- genre = Typically this might be something like hurt/comfort or slash, but could be any general grouping that's relevant to the list, such as a trope, ship, and so on.
- length = Word count for text fanworks, page count for doujinshi, etc.
- medium = For example, is it online, in print, a video, etc.
- pubdate = The date the work was published.
- lastdate = The date the work was finished or last updated. If it's still in progress and active, put "Ongoing" here.
- status = Complete, Incomplete, Deleted, WIP, etc.
- fandom = What fandom(s) apply to the fanwork.
- annotation = Describe the fanwork, explain why it's a good example for whatever list you're making, and include any relevant details.
Example
Below are two examples of possible inputs for this template. The first one has all fields filled in. The second has some omitted completely and some left blank, which is effectively the same thing.
