Temperance Brennan is a main character on the US television series Bones. Brennan is loosely based on author Kathy Reichs.
Canon
Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who teams up with FBI agent Seeley Booth. Together, they solve cases concerning recently found human remains. Brennan is also a bestselling novelist, due to this and her job at the Jefferson allows her to be really well off.
She and Seeley eventually marry and have a daughter, Christine. In season 10, it's revealed that she is pregnant with a second child, a son named Hank.

Brennan is notable for being a rare female lead who gets to have the angst-ridden past, the scientific genius, the geekery, and the complete lack of social skills usually given to male characters. Despite this, some people dislike Brennan for the same characteristics as male characters usually have and are often cherished for.
